Veterans interested in sports have two ways to get involved, as a PARTICIPANT or as a SPECTATOR. The resources listed below offers the opportunity to get involved at no cost or at a discounted cost.
PARTICIPANT:
The VA Adaptive Sports
VA’s Office of National Veterans Sports Programs and Special Events (NVSP&SE) provides Veterans with opportunities for health and healing through adaptive sports and therapeutic art programs. These specialized rehabilitation events aim to optimize Veterans’ independence, community engagement, well-being, and quality of life. VA awards grants to qualifying organizations to plan, develop, manage, and implement programs to provide adaptive sports opportunities for disabled Veterans and disabled members of the Armed Forces as authorized under 38 United States Code 521A.

SPECTATOR:
Game Day for Heros
Provides gameday experiences for Active Duty, National Guard or Reserve, Retiree, or Veteran member of the Armed Forces. It is free of charge. Apply for tickets.

Major League Baseball
Many Major League Baseball (MLB) teams offer military discounts on game tickets, often in partnership with GOVX. These discounts can be for active-duty, retired, reserve, and veteran military personnel, as well as first responders. Discounts can range from 10% to 50% off. The National Basketball Association (NBA)
The National Basketball Association (NBA) offers military members discounts through various channels such as platforms like ID.me Shop and GOVX.
National Football League
The National Football League (NFL) offers various military discounts for sporting events, including discounted tickets through platforms like ID.me Shop, GovX and VetTix. Some NFL teams also offer military discounts on their individual websites or through Ticketmaster.
National Hockey League
NHL teams offer military discounts on tickets which ranges from 10% to 50% off standard prices, and some teams offer exclusive perks for military members. Apply for tickets through GovX and ID.me.
